Daniel MacIvor is a playwright, performer, filmmaker and producer who divides his time between Toronto and Nova Scotia. He has been the recipient of a Governor General’s Literary Award, the Siminovitch Prize for Theatre, a New York Obie Award and a GLAAD Award. His plays include Never Swim Alone, In On It, His Greatness and A Beautiful View and have been translated into French, German, Czech, Spanish, Japanese and Portuguese. His most fruitful partnership has been with director Daniel Brooks with whom he has created eight solo performances for international touring. As a screenwriter he has written the films Marion Bridge, Wilby Wonderful, Trigger, and Weirdos for which he won a Canadian Screen Award for best original screenplay. From 2021-2026 he was the creative consultant for venerable queer media company Pink Triangle Press creating new media that encourages allyship and advocacy.
Named by The Globe and Mail as a Canadian Cultural Icon in 2022, Cliff is a polarizing writer and performer known for his black humour and compassionate poeticism. His solo theatre productions STITCH, HUFF, and AS YOU LIKE IT A RADICAL RETELLING have won numerous awards. Born on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, he studied playwriting at the National Theatre School of Canada and fronts the hilarious and nefarious band Cliff Cardinal and The Skylarks.
Alison Crosby is a theatre artist originally from Unama’ki / Cape Breton and currently based in Kjipuktuk / Halifax. She was the inaugural participant in Neptune Theatre’s INKubator Program, through which she wrote In Lieu of Flowers which was produced as part of Neptune’s 60th season in partnership with the Highland Arts Theatre and was nominated for a TNS Merritt Award for Outstanding New Nova Scotian Play.
Breton is an award-winning writer, performer and filmmaker. The film he co-wrote and starred in, Really Happy Someday (Best Canadian Feature at Inside Out Festival, Best Canadian Feature and Best Screenplay at Whistler Film Festival, TIFF premiere) is now available on Crave. His plays include: THE LAST SHOW ON EARTH TRADEMARK SYMBOL! (Neptune Theatre); SOMETHING FOR WHAT (began development as Tarragon's Emerging Playwright in Residence); LUCKY BASTARDS (in development; Summerworks and Theatre Gargantua Side Streams Festival). He’s the co-founder of the Spindle Films Foundation, a non profit that supports emerging transgender Canadian filmmakers.
